However, we were, surprisingly, the only two in the group that day, so direct conversation on the 3-4 hour train rides to and from destinations was a large part of the trip. Unfortunately, our views on life didn’t align well. We listened and were polite, but uncomfortable. Being American, we know our country is very unpopular right now, but not one positive thing was said about it during the day and it got a little hard to hear after a while.”
